An earthquake struck Japan. A tsunami hit Hawaii, Japan, and Russia, and maybe more. The government is KILLING people in Libya. Soldiers die everyday for our country. There are homeless people with no food or water. There are children dying of disease there is no known cure for. People everywhere need items to survive and all we do is take, take items that we don’t need. Food that is wasted could feed a starving child. The clothes you throw away because they are ‘so last season’ could clothe a homeless person for a year. Even if you have no money to spare for these people please send them a prayer….

You would not understand cutting, unless you’re a cutter. You can’t understand drugs unless you have done them. You can’t understand depression unless you have it. So, please don’t come around me saying; “there are better ways of coping”… “that is so stupid”… you know what? Fuck you, you don’t know what it feels like to feel like the whole world is collapsing and the only way to escape reality is to cut, to drink, to smoke… or whatever your outlet. Don’t come to me with that bullshit “you’re just cutting for attention” you don’t know how hard I try to hide ever single one. Its NOT for attention, its not because I’m “emo” and it’s definitely NOT because I’m suicidal. It’s because I’m lost, because I’m hurt, because I can control every cut, every shot of Smirnoff, every inhale… I can control all of that; while my life goes beyond crazy around me.

cainaaki:

22-22pm:

Crying occurs when the body reacts emotionally to something. Tears are a reaction of the nervous system to try and ease our pain, just as we would when physically harmed. The body senses our distress and the cranial nerve in the brain is stimulated, this sends signals to the neurotransmitters in the tear glands to make us cry. These tears contain high levels of manganese and the hormone prolactin in order to reduce the amount of these chemicals in the body, a defence mechanism produced to keep depression away. This is why many people feel better after they cry, because these excess hormones have been reduced and the body is returned to a more stable state.
Sometimes we say we can’t cry anymore. Why? Well, if you keep triggering a stimulus, the nervous system stops responding. If you keep pressing on a bruise, after a while the nerves won’t respond anymore and it won’t hurt. If you keep getting upset, the body might not react to it, you might not cry, and you probably feel worse.
So if you need to cry, just do it. It might be distressing, it might make you feel weak, it might make your eyes puffy, but it also might make you feel better.

And stronger…
